On June 8th, the SkillUp coalition, an alliance of employers, training providers, and non-profits, unveiled a newly redesigned skilling and career exploration platform to enable the American workforce on their upskilling journey. The launch includes a complete upgrade of the programs catalog and local and national employer networks with jobs that offer practical training and career coaching.
SkillUp has been supporting around 850,000 users since July 2020. With user feedback, worker surveys and market research, SkillUp took to redesigning the user experience.
The new user experience includes:
-
An emphasis on in-demand jobs that offer a gateway to a good wage without requiring a 4-year degree, and provides high career growth potential.
-
A brand new training program catalog, linking workers to career pathways across five industries (business, medical, information technology, skilled trades and supply chain & logistics) through 400 vetted programs. Training program partners undergo a rigorous program analysis considering their wraparound services, completion rates, length of programs, and post-program placement rates.
-
A sleek, visual user interface and new functionalities including sorting and filtering by cost, program duration, format (online, hybrid, local), highest graduation rates, location, industry and more.
-
Quick links to "Earn & Learn" jobs, helping workers access opportunities that connect them to employers who offer jobs with training opportunities, full-time benefits, and commitment to helping employees grow professionally.
-
Simple access to free weekly group coaching hosted in partnership with InsideTrack, as well as financial and life resources.
