As workers remain in the workforce longer, employers are increasing dealing with the challenges of allowing employees the opportunity to bridge the gap to retirement in a healthy manner, rather than using disability as a means to retirement. As we age, physical and cognitive function declines, and there is a small body of research that suggests employees may self-modify their tasks to remain as productive as they once were. To expand this body of research, Prudential performed a quantitative and qualitative study of older workers with a primary focus on workers over the age of 50.
