AC Power and Solar One Team Up to Offer Career Readiness Programs for Students in the Solar Energy Sector

Non-profit firm Solar One, known for being NYC’s premier green energy education center, has announced a partnership with AC Power LLC, a leading solar solutions development company. Through the partnership, the firms will deliver a unique career readiness and talent development program to promote careers in the solar sector to high school and college students.

"These internships fostered the opportunity for a lot of growth in me. In both internships, my confidence and initiative were pretty low quality at first. As I warmed up, I became more self-sufficient and confident in my ability to: at SolarOne, teach, and at AC Power, be taught, listen, and make the most of what I learned"

- Zerlina Torras, freshman at the University of Vermont who finished a 5-month internship with Solar One and AC Power

The two firms will co-host an internship to offer high school seniors the experience of working in both the non-profit and corporate ecosystems. The college level initiatives include NABCEP certification training for those studying at the County College of Morris (CCM). The certification will provide job seekers with the advantage they need to land a job in the solar energy sector.

AC Power and Solar One are looking forward to reaffirming their continued partnership and promoting new ecosystems to galvanize a green energy workforce.
