Best Buy Commits $44M to Achieve a Set of Diversity, Inclusion and Representation Goals by 2025

Best Buy will commit more than $44 million over a five-year time span to achieve a set of diversity, inclusion and representation objectives by 2025, the organization reported Dec. 9.

Among other objectives, Best Buy is looking for a more diverse employee base; the organization said it tries to fill 1 out of 3 new, non-hourly corporate positions with candidates who are Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC). Moreover, it intends to fill 1 of every 3 new, non-hourly field functions with female candidates. Best Buy additionally said it looks to make "parity in retention rates" just as change its senior leadership positions to be "more in line with the diversity of CEO direct reports and company Board of Directors," it said.

The investment will cover network engagement endeavors, including $44 million to grow college prep and profession advancement open doors for BIPOC students including 16 scholarships for students at historically Black colleges and universities. Best Buy will likewise assemble an organization of in any event 100 "teen tech centers" to make ability advancement open doors for teenagers in disinvested communities.
