partner News
Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, has announced continued momentum for its office of finance solutions, as large enterprises around the world continue deploying Workday to help drive digital finance transformation strategies. In the company's fiscal 2022 fourth quarter, customers including American Financial Group, Bon Secours Mercy Health, Christmas Tree Shops, Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), Nuffield Health, Sharp HealthCare, and SS&C Technologies deployed Workday finance solutions to help manage performance and growth and drive business-critical decisions.

Workday also announced a record number of deployments for its core finance offerings — Workday Financial Management, Workday Adaptive Planning, and Workday Strategic Sourcing — in its fiscal year 2022 (Feb. 1, 2021-Jan. 31, 2022), with nearly 1,500 deployments during that period, signalling an increased demand for Workday solutions supporting the office of the chief financial officer (CFO).

Innovation for the Office of the CFO
The company's broad portfolio of cloud finance offerings brings new levels of visibility and control that go beyond the boundaries of traditional enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Together Workday Financial Management, Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Accounting Centre, Workday Prism Analytics, and Workday Spend Management, which includes Workday Strategic Sourcing, deliver a deep and comprehensive solution for enterprise planning and analysis across all finance processes.

Specifically, Workday continues to drive innovation across its solutions to help global customers:

Become decision-ready with the Workday intelligent data core. Workday offers a unique architecture that allows finance teams to harness the power of data by blending operational and transactional data into a single source. Workday Accounting Centre, built on this foundation, represents a fundamental change in the way finance teams manage external transactions by dramatically simplifying the transformation of high-volume operational data into accounting.

Adapt to changing business conditions with continuous planning. Workday Adaptive Planning enables customers to collaboratively forecast and budget with driver-based planning and what-if scenario modelling. Predictive forecasting, powered by machine learning, enables easy evaluation across multiple scenarios, such as changing market conditions, regulatory changes, or currency fluctuations, in order to rapidly adapt to change.

Modernise accounting and procurement processes. Workday increases efficiency by embedding machine learning into core processes. With Workday Financial Management, finance teams spend less time on transaction processing and are empowered to focus more on strategy and analysis to drive the business forward. In addition, Workday Spend Management automates the source-to-pay process and provides complete visibility to help finance and purchasing departments strategically manage costs, minimise out-of-policy spend, and optimise purchasing power.

"Leading organisations recognise that today's environment requires faster, more flexible finance processes to work at the speed of business,"

- Sheri Rhodes, chief customer officer, Workday.

Artificial Intelligence, Workforce Globalization Are Returning Power to Employers

Business Wire | October 27, 2023

Businesses and technology workers should acquire and implement new skills, including generative AI capabilities, “cautiously but continuously” as talent acquisition power swings back to the employer, says an expert with Information Services Group (ISG) leading global technology research and advisory firm. Speaking during the annual All Day DevOps virtual event today, Ola Chowning, partner and Digital lead for ISG North Europe, said the rise of new AI technologies and increased globalization are changing the balance of power in the global market for IT talent. Software developers and IT operations professionals, she said, are being forced to skill up or be left behind. Chowning said. 2023 has been the year of widespread worry about the ‘AI-apocalypse. The potential implications of generative AI, the growing maturity of the DevOps skills market and the willingness of employers to source cost-effective digital talent from new geographies like Spain, Portugal, Mexico and Vietnam, have put additional strain on an already nervous talent market. [Source:Business Wire] Chowning’s comments came during her 30-minute online presentation, “DevOps Talent & Skills - 2023 Update,” today at 1 p.m., U.S. Eastern Time. This is Chowning’s sixth consecutive appearance at All Day DevOps, the largest event of its kind in the industry. In her presentation, Chowning explored how organizations and DevOps experts are coping with a changing global market for IT talent that is being impacted by technology that can deliver dramatic increases in productivity, and at the same time, also increase employee concerns over job stability. Chowning said organizations and DevOps practitioners need to lean into AI’s abilities to generate original ideas, designs and solutions, simulate outcomes of creative strategies, allow team members to collaborate with less friction and deliver greater insight and efficiency with cautious optimism rather than fear, uncertainty or doubt. “We are not in an AI apocalypse,” she said. “Companies that can stay agile in the face of rapid change in technology, promote self-learning and empower talent will see a real boost in innovation, productivity and continuous transformation. The key for businesses and DevOps practitioners alike is to proceed cautiously but continuously.” Leaders should establish an AI architecture and environment (including appropriate policies as necessary) and educate IT teams in how to recognize, access and use the right AI tools for the right job, ideally through an already established cognitive framework and environment for AI tools and capabilities, she said. “Technology employees know that natural language processors and service provider talent and skill sets in traditional and emerging geographies are likely to be part of organizations’ labor strategies,” Chowning said. “Despite this shift in power, deep technology skills and expertise will never lose their value. Organizations should be transparent about their company and IT values to attract employees even in turbulent times.” The eighth annual All Day DevOps 24-hour live stream event started at 3 a.m., U.S. Eastern Time, today. The conference features 180 practitioner-led sessions, across six tracks: CI/CD Continuous Everything; Modern Infrastructure; DevSecOps; Cultural Transformation, Site Reliability Engineering and the Software Supply Chain. Beeline | September 15, 2023

Beeline, a leading technology solutions provider for overseeing the global extended workforce, has unveiled two new products designed to tackle workforce challenges that were previously unaddressed in the industry. These innovations, known as Beeline Professional and Global Workforce Intelligence, represent a significant step forward in the management of extended workforces. With a wealth of experience spanning over twenty years, Beeline has played a notable role in shaping the evolution of the extended workforce industry. In recognizing two major shortcomings within the industry—vendor management systems (VMS) primarily catering to large enterprises and the untapped potential for talent visibility and compliance—Beeline has launched these additions to the Beeline Extended Workforce Platform. Beeline Professional has been crafted to meet the specific needs of emerging and expanding extended workforce programs. It stands as the first VMS solution that can be effortlessly activated, featuring pre-configured templates, workflows, dashboards, and reports modeled after the best-in-class programs. Beeline Professional brings scalable extended workforce management, automation, and efficiency to companies with annual non-employee labor expenditures ranging from $1 million to $25 million. Using insights from over the last 20+ years in the industry, Beeline Professional is uniquely tailored to meet the core needs of mid-sized programs without compromising quality and innovation. [Source: PR Newswire] Up until now, achieving complete visibility across an organization's entire extended workforce has been a challenge for enterprises. Global Workforce Intelligence, however, offers a solution by aggregating data not only from the company's VMS but also from other systems housing external workers that are not captured in the VMS. This comprehensive workforce visibility enables thorough accounting, analysis, and proactive risk management across the entire extended workforce spectrum. Importantly, Global Workforce Intelligence is compatible with any VMS, not limited to Beeline's. Extended workers play a crucial role in an organization's overall workforce and talent strategy. Beeline's mission is to empower companies to gain a competitive edge by optimizing their extended workforce. The introduction of these two innovative products marks another milestone in Beeline's journey toward fulfilling this mission.
