Workplace Culture Crossroads: The Intersection of DEI and Mental Health

Workplace Culture Crossroads: The Intersection of DEI and Mental
Mental health has become a growing concern for employers. In studies, 34 percent of U.S. workers reported feeling depressed or anxious at least once per week in 2022 – up from 20 percent in 2020. Although most U.S. employers say employee mental health is a significant workplace issue, employers and workers are divided in key areas about mental well-being. Workers’ comfort level engaging in mental health conversations vary greatly, with U.S. Black, Latinx, and Asian American-Pacific Islander (AAPI) workers feeling less comfortable engaging in mental health conversations in the workplace than their white colleagues. This session will explore tangible actions for leaders and DEI professionals to bridge the divide and cultivate inclusive workspaces that prioritize mental health for all employees, helping them – and their companies – thrive.
