The shift to online shopping continues, with customers indicating a preference for online even as physical stores reopen. While ecommerce growth slowed in 2022 (it was 7.7%), U.S. ecommerce sales reached $1.03 trillion (meaning they passed $1 trillion for the first time ever). Brick-and-mortar stores are struggling, and staffing and supply chain issues don’t improve the situation.
