Go Ahead – Take All the Credit!

For certified professionals in human resources, working for an organization that is a member of the Management Association is especially beneficial. As referenced in a previous article, a partnership between the Management Association and the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), allows individuals to earn up to 12 hours of recertification credit per renewal cycle simply by working at an Association member organization.At our recent Labor and Employment Law Conference, there were many questions about recertification and how to apply this credit. Individuals with Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certifications may receive recertification credits as follows:PHR BenefitsPHR professionals earn three credits per full year of Management Association membership, up to nine credit hours per renewal cycle. These credit hours are to be applied in the “Professional Membership” category.In addition, one credit per full year of Management Association membership, up to three credit hours per renewal cycle, is earned as HR (General) credit. These hours are entered in the “Continuing Education” category.
