H-1B Visa Lottery System Reversed

Organizations that want to hire workers who hold H-1B visas will have to use a new online registration system as anticipated under a just-released final rule—but not until 2020. Part of the rule will take effect this year, though: In the first round of selections, advanced-degree holders will join undergraduates in the lottery for 65,000 visas. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that based on public feedback, it has decided to postpone the implementation of the electronic registration requirement until the fiscal year (FY) 2021 filing period, according to the final rule issued today.
