Why it’s Time for a Modern Approach to HR in the Construction Industry

May 6, 2018

The construction industry is building on its success. The sector already represents six percent of global GDP, and in the UK almost a third of organizations report growth in infrastructure workloads, with the most significant increases in rail, road, and energy categories – HS2, Crossrail, and the Thames Tideway Tunnel being prime examples of major infrastructure projects. It’s not all good news though. Recruiting and managing talent will become a major challenge in the years to come. A skills shortage driven by demographic shifts, increasingly sophisticated technology, the potential consequences of Brexit, and the traditionally high volatility of workforce demand and composition, will all put pressure on the ability of organizations to compete.

Sneaking away to doctor's appointments and continuing to work even if you feel unwell? Employees are saying, "No more." Outdated policies have them considering quitting in a way that has never been seen before.
