Making Informal Performance Management Work in the Workplace

The annual performance review is slowly being cast aside for informal conversations. However, companies transitioning to an informal approach are facing unexpected hurdles in gaining employee adoption and equipping managers to become strong communicators. According to a new survey by IDG, 66% of managers said they needed more coaching and feedback training and only about half of employees understand their company’s approach to performance management.
